Your Work for God Is Not in Vain
By Keneesha Saunders-Liddie

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”  - 1 Corinthians 15:58

I was doing too much… I could feel the tell-tale sign of my achy shoulder and knew my stress level was rising. Yet, I continued. I was the Bible club teacher, Sunday school teacher, praise and worship singer and I organized and rehearsed with the youth of the church for programs on all festive occasions.

It wasn’t that bad, I was doing the work of the Lord and keeping busy until his return. But the more stress I felt, the more I realized that no one was noticing the hard work I was putting in.

There was no thank you, no good job, not even a pat on the back and my stress grew. What I failed to realize at the time was I shouldn’t even be seeking men’s applause; only God’s.

Have you ever felt this? At some time or the other, whether it was at church, your workplace or home, you felt discouraged in your welldoing because you were taken for granted.

Sometimes, all you want is just one person to tell you good job so you can have the strength to continue… but it never happens.

This is why our key verse is so important. It is found in the book of 1 Corinthians and it was written by Paul. Paul knew exactly what we would face - the people of Corinth were facing the same problem. That’s why Paul wrote this verse to encourage them.

The good news is that even if no one mentions the good work you’re doing, God sees it. He never slumbers nor sleeps. He is ever-present. There is no good thing you’ve done in his name that he hasn’t taken note of.

Sisters, when you feel like fainting, this is when he will renew your strength like the eagles so that you will soar. He admonishes us to be steadfast, immovable and consistent.

Steadfast- this gives the image of not quitting. Be sure and steady. There is a reason God wants us to be diligent and tell us at the end our work will not be in vain.

Immovable- solid, a stronger addition to the word steadfast; in other words, don’t be easily shaken. I know you feel like the only one still being faithful, (so not true), keep being firm and faithful you’re doing it all for God.

Consistent- be always abounding in the work of the Lord. Everything your hands find to do, do it to the best of your ability because you serve an awesome God.

When Paul penned these words, he talked about the certainty of death, but its loss of power over the life of the believer.

At the time, I really wasn’t doing more than I could handle, I was just discouraged, and I allowed my thoughts to control doing my best for Christ. Now, I know for sure that when discouragement knocks on my door, I need to quote this verse and remind myself that my labor is not in vain.

All I have to do is serve him in sincerity and do my best to bring him glory. He has promised that what we do for him will not be in vain.

Join more than 2,300 of your colleagues in bringing a Jewish moral voice to human rights in North America, Israel, and the occupied Palestinian territories. T’ruah chaverim are rabbis and cantors who stand up to be counted as human rights leaders, nationally and in their own communities.

Being part of our chaverim network gives you many benefits, including:

  • network of supportive rabbis and cantors of all denominations throughout North America, including connections with colleagues in your own area.
  • Human rights delegations, including to witness the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border; to visit the Legacy Museum and Memorial in Montgomery, Alabama, and to meet with Palestinian and Israeli human rights leaders in the West Bank.
  • Chaverim-only webinars  that offer rabbinic framing and support for addressing breaking news within our communities.
  • The chance to organize together to have an impact on human rights in both North America and Israel.
  • Study guidesholiday resources, and teaching tools, to enhance your analysis of the issues.
  • One-on-one consultations with T’ruah staff and leaders.

T’ruah asks chaverim for standard dues of $180/year or $15/month. If this is prohibitive, please let us know; no one will be turned away for financial reasons.

Many chaverim give an additional gift nediv lev, from the heart. Chaverim give a wide range as they are able, between $5/month and $3,600/year. These gifts are critical to our financial health, making possible our mission of protecting and expanding human rights in North America, Israel, and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Chaverim who give monthly are automatically also members of the Shofar Society, and do not need to give an additional monthly gift.

Cantor Vera Broekhuysen

Temple Emanu-El

Haverhill, Massachusetts

“T’ruah has honed and expanded my vision of what it means to be a cantor in this painful, beautiful world. T’ruah’s education and advocacy offer a wide-lens, deeply informed, Jewish perspective on human rights abuses, and practical tools for the human rights work that must be our Jewish response to them. As part of a T’ruah delegation to El Paso in March 2019, I visited Otero County Detention Center, one of the immigration jails – where a Togolese asylum seeker who arrived in my sanctuary network just days before, had spent three months imprisoned. That experience was indelible and invaluable. Seeing a human rights issue close up, accompanied by people whose life’s work is to improve it, feeds the eish kodesh, holy fire, in Jewish cantors and rabbis, and helps us tend that fire in our own congregations and organizations.”

Rabbi Justin David

Congregation Bnai Israel

Northampton, Massachusetts

“Being a part of T’ruah’s protest in February 2017 against the Travel Ban was one of the most important and galvanizing experiences of my personal life and career. It brought into focus many things: the importance of a trans-denominational rabbinic voice; the necessity of a rabbinic moral voice outside the traditional institutions; the power of a generation of rabbinic leadership that’s writing new rules on how we stand up; the vision of T’ruah’s leadership that is so necessary for this moment. A photo of my and other rabbis being arrested that night sits in my office as inspiration for when I need it in my rabbinic work. I am deeply proud to be connected to T’ruah and see the organization and our work as an essential Jewish voice of our time.”

Rabbi Rachel Timoner

Congregation Beth Elohim

Brooklyn, New York

“I don’t think it’s possible to overstate the importance of the voice of T’ruah. They are out there on issues that require a lot of courage, and with such a good, nuanced, clear message that is Torah-based. T’ruah gives the entire rabbinate breathing room to be able to enter into that also.”

We welcome chaverim who are ordained as rabbis or cantors by accredited institutions and/or who are members of recognized local or national rabbinic associations. T’ruah chaverim are expected to live by high ethical standards. Chaverim who are in the middle of an adjudicatory process within their rabbinic/cantorial associations are asked to refrain from engagement in T’ruah programs or on the T’ruah listserv until the process has been resolved. Those who are suspended from their rabbinic/cantorial associations for ethics violations will also be suspended from being T’ruah chaverim for the same period, and those who are permanently expelled for ethics violations will no longer be able to be T’ruah chaverim.

I felt called to join the Shofar Society because of the critical work T’ruah is doing to protest the human rights violations perpetrated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It is a remarkable and vitally important thing to stand up against injustice. T’ruah’s work is a constant reminder that all of our futures are connected, and that we are all responsible for working together to build the future we know is possible.” – Amelia Overbay-Day

I joined the Shofar Society because I am inspired by T’ruah’s unwavering commitment to all the struggles for peace and justice that matter deeply to me — in the US, Israel, and the occupied Palestinian territories. In 2011, I joined a 10-day intensive and comprehensive trip to the West Bank with T’ruah. What was revealed to me in those ten days permanently bonded my attention to the cause of Palestinian justice. Years later, T’ruah continues to set an example, bringing true Torah values of justice to Jewish communities everywhere.” -Francine Perlman

Animists in Kenya Find Meaning in Lord God Almighty.

In the midst of a long drought, the birth of a girl in western Kenya had created quite a dispute in her family about what to name her. Due to malnutrition she had been born prematurely, which among the Bukusu tribe called for the name Nambuswa. But she cried for long spells during the daytime, which the Bukusu took to mean an ancestral spirit on her mother's side was trying to signal that the child should be named after her. Yet there were no maternal ancestors named Nambuswa. The family of animists in a village near Chwele town, on the remote western edge of Kenya, was torn. The family patriarch would ultimately decide, but the arrival of an indigenous missionary would determine the name's meaning – as native missionaries throughout Africa bring meaning to people's lives.

PROTECTING RELIGIOUS BELIEFS & MORAL HERITAGE.

Our network of associate religious devotees and people of diverse faith backgrounds work across Africa to share the worships, the relationships with the Lord God Almighty, enact sacred assemblies,God`s edifices, chant praises to our maker, sing psalmic songs, prosper religions, services unto Lord God Almighty, fellowships of entire communities to Lord God Almighty founded on devotions, piousness and God`s great scriptures of sankskrit texts, bible, torah, talmud, gospel, bhagavad gita, srimad bhagavatam, quran and haggadath.

Since 1998, our small staff and supporters
around the world have been committed to going the distance to reach Africa for Lord God Almighty.

Founded in 1998, "nu-nations of God international para-ministries" and "Abambika Afrika para-religious reformist socio-organization seek to establish a witness for Lord God Almighty for every nation by assisting indigenous ministries in lands where Judaists,Christians,Islamists,Bahais,Zoroastrians, buddhists, hinduists,Juches,Cao Daists, sikhis are a minority, and where foreign missionaries are increasingly getting interested.

We evaluate every indigenous ministry we assist to verify their faith, financial integrity and fruitfulness. Then we help them sustain and grow their work by making their needs known to believers in developed nations who supply them with prayer and financial support.

The ministries we assist are fully independent and not our affiliates. They are led by enlightened souls who live and work inside of their own countries.

We work with thousands of indigenous ministries that share the love of Lord God Almighty with more than 405,700 unreached people groups in eight regions of the world: Africa, China, Europe, former Soviet Union, Latin America, Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia.

Care for a Cause

Being involved in the community has always been a huge part of Abambika Afrika Para-church."There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up".John Holmes

an eclipse of demamogoury and hypocrisy.

nu-NATIONS of God international para-ministries continues to join God in what HE is already doing to foster the religious community and believers globally.

Over the past 11 years nu-NATIONS of God community life church have lived out the gospel message with over 150 new believers, touching hundreds and thousands of families in Nairobi,Kenya.

By God's grace and HIS greatest faithfulness our supporters, the vision and our zeal to transform lives and communities continues to expand.

The nu-NATIONS of G-D church & ministries is a group of people who share a common love for the grace of God in life’s application.

We define the grace of God as the unmerited favor of God directed toward mankind. It should be noted that this understanding of God’s grace does not condone the thought that man can live without restraint, because grace covers irresponsible behavior toward the holiness of God (Rom. 6:1: What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?(15) What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!) Rather, the grace of God “instructs us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age” (Titus 2:12 teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age).

nu-NATIONS of G-D church & ministries is a charitable faith-based organization that is supported by gifts from supportive churches, ministries and friends that embrace it’s vision and initiatives to promote the Grace of God as the means of salvation through the work of Jesus Christ at Calvary.

nu-NATIONS of G-D church & ministries receives a small adminstrative fee for processing mission support for its associate missionaries and ministry support transactions.

If you are blessed with this website and what nu-NATIONS of G-D church & ministries is doing worldwide for the promotion of the Gospel of Grace, and so desire to give to help or support nu-NATIONS of G-D church & ministries as God leads you, you may send designated gifts to new NATIONS of G-D church & ministries at its office:

the wonders of Lord God Almighty never cease. His works abound in all of the world.

the nu-NATIONS of God Worship fellowships!

We celebrate Lord God Almighty variously through many religious forms by championing interfaith programs.

To better serve all , our office in Washington DC engages in joint programs with other mainstream religious organizations such as the National Council of Churches, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, and the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism. These inter-religious projects help break down barriers of mistrust and misunderstanding and help form genuine partnerships of faith and ethics.”

Community outreaches, the Office for Interfaith and Community Alliances (IOICA) strengthens ties among local religious grassroots organizations.

The office also functions as an outreach resource for those engaged in politics and government. Such contacts allow us to promote a positive image of religions, adherents, religious advocates and devotees of the Lord God Almighty.

To strengthen local communities, IOICA in conjunction with ILDC and the Youth Department organizes Days at mosques and community centers across the continent. Our Days include keynote speeches, entertainment sessions and fundraisers, all of which help connect us to local Lord God Almighty`s devotees. The fundraising programs in particular help finance our many programs.

We promote individual rights, promoting policies that protect both religion and theocracy, and uniting diverse voices to challenge extremism.

We are dedicated to making a positive, spiritual impact within the community, through the teachings of the bible and continuing Christian support to the people of Kayole,Nairobi,Kenya and Africa as a whole.

From the National Director

What a privilege it is to share in God’s mission to the world He loves!

At BCA, we are committed to going wherever God calls in order to reach

Australians for the Lord Jesus Christ. For almost 100 years,

it has been our privilege to see lives changed, churches strengthened

and communities transformed as His gospel is shared.

We’d love you to join the journey with us!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,

let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.

And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of faith.”
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV)

Our Work Around the World.

Founded by Luvaha Charles Luvaga nearly 20 years ago, nu-nations of God international Para-ministries works in 120 countries.

We partner with 415,000 volunteers and more than 70,000 religious organizations to challenge the dominance of secularism worldwide

to * Foster, develop, defend, protect, and further mobilize religious moderates worldwide in their progress toward

integration as an equal and respected religious entity in the wider brotherhood of community of nations worldwide

and global interfaith environment;.

Center for religious Pluralism

We

* Define the future of religion in Africa as a community in support of

the politicization of our religion which is taking place right now in Africa`s values,

traditions, and policies;

* Educate the broader African public about the reality of moderate religions

represented by political radical, and adversarial tendencies.

How We Serve

In partnership with religious groups across the globe,we place committed and gifted advocatees of Lord God Almighty in a variety of locations to help people connect with the grace of God revealed.

Current Ministry Areas

Pastoral Ministry

A commitment to sending Field Staff to plant, pastor and nurture lively God-centred worship places across the Africa continent, on islands and in regional centres.

Indigenous Ministry

Ministry to Africa has always been a key part of our mission. We focus on the identification and support of Indigenous religious leaders. Many of our Field Staff have regular contact with them as part of their ministry.

Developing and Equipping Leaders

We are working to develop a new generation of culturally diverse religious leaders to serve in the Africa, and to equip leaders already on the ground for faithful and fruitful ministry.

School Chaplaincy and the Scripture Initiative

Many of our Field Staff serve in schools as chaplains. Through the Scripture Initiative, we hope to have a paid SRE teacher for every high school in Africa by 2020.

Short-Term Mission Trips

We have two short-term mission programs

  • Dusty Boots a program where high school students go on short-term mission trips with their schools and serve in remote communities.
  • Nomads a program where people travelling around Africa can serve and help out in our chosen locations.

HELPING PEOPLE KNOW GOD,
FIND FREEDOM,
DISCOVER PURPOSE
AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

REAL LIFE HAPPENS IN SMALL GROUPS

We want to help you on a spiritual journey of knowing God, finding freedom, discovering purpose, and making a difference. And you need friends to travel alongside of you.

Small Groups are the place where we create authentic friendship, help each other grow, and pray for one another.

Wherever you're at on the journey, there's a Small Group for you.

There are three semesters of Small Groups throughout the year. You can join them at any time. So take a look at the directory and find one that works for your schedule.

You're not just another face in the crowd. Get to know other people on a deeper level -- join a Community Group!

The end of Acts, chapter 2, has a key verse that helps us to understand how the early church operated. In the NLT version, this section of scripture is titled, “The Believers Form a Community.” Acts 2:42 says, “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.” This is exactly what we want to recreate in our community.

In a church of our size, we believe that smaller communities are essential. The early church’s example is exactly what we want to recreate in our community. The best way for us to do that is to gather people into smaller groups where they can be vulnerable with each other and encourage each other in their faith. We call them "Community Groups."

True community is what we hope to foster in each of our groups. The tree with roots going downward is intentional; our goal is to launch most of our groups from Rooted--a great starting point for community, and set up to grow even deeper roots together in relationships with each other and also with Christ.

How do I join a Community Group?

We recommend that you join the next Rooted session! This is the best foundation for a new Community Group.
